L8Cummer Hash – 5/18/2025

I’d like to open this email with a public apology to Whip for not getting this out last night as demanded. To be honest, I was exhausted because all the hounds were on our ASSES for the entire duration of trail. Anyway.

It was a lovely day in beautiful Ann Arbor, Michigan and a nice group gathered at Island Park to celebrate a last-minute trail. Rumpleforeskin was late because he was watching porn or his wife was talking to him; seems pretty different to me but we couldn’t make heads nor tails of what the hell he was trying to excuse himself of. Warm Bud Light was enjoyed (?) and in relatively efficient manner the hares were out to lay the first leg straight up 500 feet of trail in Cedar Bend Nature Area. WOOF. We then wound our way through North Campus (HEY HAVE YOU ALL HEARD THAT COXCYCLE USED TO LIVE THERE????????) and the hares arrived at the BN just moments before the pack, which I think is how it’s supposed to happen, right???

We rested in the shade for awhile and ate a lot of EXTRA CHEESY goldfish, which I thought were absolutely delicious; kudos to my co-hare for busting those out. In short order it was time to embark on leg two, which saw us leading the pack through the Arb (sorry to the runners that I got a little lost in there and took you… far away, but you know what? GROW UP). We prematurely took everyone through the peony garden hoping to see more blooms, but it’s not quite time y’all! Next weekend, I’d say. At this point, as mentioned, the hounds were hot on our tails so we laid some pretty direct trail back to the On-In. This part featured the first bit of shiggy which apparently Hairy Tramp Stamp just ran through because he wanted to and didn’t care if there were marks there or not!

This is where the real “fun” began. English seemed to be nobody’s first language during circle; Just Rachael accused “Vagiant Ankles” of god knows what, Whip forgot the lyrics to half the songs he started, and Rumple was still babbling. We did have some decent choir practice and I hope everyone starts visiting the hymnal to learn the hash songs! Well, maybe the families trying to have a child’s birthday party in the pavilion next to us didn’t like it as much as we did.

If you’ve been skimming this until now, LOCK IT UP and tune in because we had a naming!!! Just Todd, thank you for your enthusiastic and charming presence at many hashes of late. You shall now and forever always be known as CamoToad!
