New Year, New You Hash – 12/29/24
There was a hash today!
Despite the rain, a fair number (10) of enthused hashers came out for the on-start at Hunt Park. Not Whip, though, he had to come late because he had to poop. And this is true! Luckily we could all confirm that things came out nice and clean when he showed us his butt per tradition at the conclusion circle. Anyway, enough of that.
The hare (me) set off in the pouring rain to lay some trail. Sadly, many of the marks were washed away and the walkers were LOST before BN one. They were in good company though, and seemed unfazed when they were found and dragged to the BN under M14 where the r#nners had already had 1-3 beers. Service (?) Dog behaved herself surprisingly well and enjoyed being tempted by several sticks.
The Lord of the Banjos was battling Pokemons throughout the hash and all the hashers were impressed (alarmed?) by the speed of his forefinger movement as he engaged in various battles on his phone. Anyway, the BN happened and I set off to lay the second half of trail, with requests for more marks this time. I did my best laying POUNDS of flour out and everyone made it to the On-In in due time with few complaints.
Circle was uneventful with few accusations but Sleeping Pukey did “contribute” to the foulness that was the alleged “closed for the season” men’s bathroom at Hunt Park.
We then all retired to Homes Brewpub where folks thought that the beer selection had improved and the wing selection was bar none! Mother Inferior was gifted a belated birthday present of a bottle of pretty dang good looking tequila also for the 6th night of Hanukkah (?). Cool!
I appreciated Whip’s message after the hash of “no hare, no hash.” Hashing is a hoot, just lay trail! Welcome also to a new hasher, “Just Nate,” who was found on trail during the Moneybags hash!
Those available should check out the GLH3 (Lansing) hash on January 4th in Canton. Check the calendar! Otherwise, email to claim a date to hare! You can truly do what I did today and hare a hash in the pouring rain with a 3.1 mile trail and warm beer and people will have fun.
Cheers,
